ABOUT US

My name is Mandy Vadnay and Nordic Nest LLC is my personal business in my owned home

and I am the sole care provider.

My bio:

I'm originally from Oregon. I've been married 16 years and we have twin 5-year-old girls (we're older parents, but love it). My first job was working at a daycare when I was only 14 and I continued to care for children as a nanny/babysitter on and off until age 29; I also worked in eldercare in my 30s. I have a bachelor's degree and have been a business owner, including Vadnay Chocolate which was sold in early 2025. Although I've worked outside of the home, including owning a business, I much prefer caretaking in a home environment.

HOUSEHOLD STRUCTURE

We're fortunate to have a house design that has front area space for my childcare and a completely separate personal space! My husband owns a business and works outside of the home during daycare operating hours.

I have twin girls starting kindergarten in the fall of 2025. They return home from school at about 3:15 p.m. Our girls have the biggest hearts, but they are fun-loving, active and not quiet!

**If your child needs a very quiet environment please let me know ahead of time. Only care before 3 p.m. is recommended

**Note there is one small elderly cat that is indoor/outdoor with no history of any aggression whatsoever and she likes to stay away when there is activity in the home.

CAMERAS

I believe in an open door policy. There will be at least 2 Ring cameras with recording on that will cover the entire care area for you to check on your little one(s) at any time! A temporary access code will be provided upon your request and deleted at pick up. You will need to download the app to your phone.

Although I operate out of the my home, my job is to focus on the children in my care and not any other household duties that are not related to my immediate care.

SICK POLICY

Part of our business model is to reduce the risk of constant illness. By limiting the number of children, we aim to keep the chance of spreading viruses to a minimum. We also ask for your cooperation. If your child is exhibiting symptoms, you may be called to pick up. Please be sure your child is up-to-date with vaccinations.

STATE LICENSING

In compliance with Oregon State Childcare Laws. Background checks posted on our wall (and can be searched online). Child CPR trained. Food safety trained. Sleep safety trained.

COST

$15/hour 1-2 hours

$12 hour 3-8 hours

Sibling discount 50%

*Infant - 12 months $18

Regular spots may be available if you have a backup plan/flexibility.

Off hours considered case-by-case

To be paid by card or cash at pick up

Private pay.

Snacks/meals/formula-bottles/diapers/wipes to be provided by you.

Add $5 to daily total if I provide snacks/meals. Will post daily meal/snack menu

Charge for diapers/wipes if I need to provide
